Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau and Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office said they conducted more than 70 searches under the “Carthage” operation and notified five people of suspected participation in a criminal organization. Former SBU General Serhii Duka was detained in Roslychy on 4 November, while court measures were also imposed on senior National Police officials Volodymyr Tsenov and Oleksandr Demyanchuk, and on Vitalii Rybalko. The authorities allege that officials helped facilitate fraudulent call centres, drug trafficking, currency counterfeiting, violence and other illegal activity.
